Aniyah Anderson-Cooper.
Career Goals: Graduate and obtain my undergraduate degree from the illustrious FAMU. Upon graduation, I will have completed the Rattler Army ROTC Cadet program, establishing me as a Second lieutenant in the US Army. I also aspire to apply for the ED Delay my Master the Ph.D. in my field. After school, I will resume my active duty while balancing my career field in rehabilitative medicine.
Reece Huggard I am a 2021 graduate of the Episcopal School of Dallas (ESD) and currently attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, majoring in Electrical Engineering. My interest in engineering began as a young child when I developed for building Legos. As an engineer, I will live out my childhood passion for designing and constructing by working in a field that challenges and excites me.
I pursued my interest at ESD by taking several engineering classes and obtaining three national certifications, all while playing on the Varsity Football team, where I served as captain my senior year and secretary of ESD's Black Student Union. I am well-rounded and have participated in several STEM. leadership, and culture enrichment programs outside of school. I also volunteered for various charitable earned me the President's Volunteer Service Award and the Greater Frisco Chapter of Jack and Jill of America's Outstanding Volunteer Service Award each for 3 straight years.
Jamal Lucas My name is Jamal Lucas, and I am a native Houstonian. My mother and I moved to Arlington, TX, as I began high school, where I attended and graduated from James Bowie High School.
I attend Tyler Jr. College. I am currently seeking an associate degree in general studies. I have an interest in plants and animals, and I am seeking a major that will help use this interest in the future..
Michael Robinson Jr. was an Honors Student Athlete at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in
Olney, Maryland. He was a defensive tackle on Good Counsel’s top 5 ranked football team and earned
the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
Michael Robinson Jr. is currently in his second year (2L) at Howard University School of Law. He spent
the summer of 2020 as a Legal Intern with the Cooper and Crickman, PLLC Law Firm in Washington,
DC. For the 2020 fall semester, Michael is participating in the United States Patent and Trademark Office
(USPTO) Law School Clinic Certification Program. He serves as an Intellectual Property and Patent
Clinic Student Attorney.
Camryn Erby is a 2019 graduate of Bowie High School in Bowie, Maryland. In high school, she was
involved in many activities, namely the Student Government Association, orchestra, dance and modeling.
Currently, she is a freshman at Bethune Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida, where she
strives to maintain a high GPA and be successful in her chosen field of study.
Anjulie Morehead graduated from James Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas in June of 2017,
in the top 3% of her class. She won numerous awards in high school including: Top 10 Bowie Student,
Richard Greene Scholar and Stepper of the Year.
Anjulie is now a Junior Civil Engineering major at Jackson State University, where she maintains a 3.84
GPA while serving as President of the Panhellenic Council for Greek lettered organizations, an active
member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, as well as Women in Engineering, Black Engineers
association and Honors College. Finally, Anjulie has accepted an intern position with Boeing, the largest
aerospace company in the world.
Finau Fakahua is currently a student-athlete at Cedar Valley Community College in Lancaster, Texas. She
plans to complete her Associate's Degree in 2 years and then transfer to a 4 year institution to obtain her
Bachelor's Degree. Finau loves the deaf culture and wants to be able to communicate effectively with
people in that community by becoming a certified interpreter in American Sign Language.
Elijah Brown was born in California, but spent the majority of his upbringing in the Dallas Fort Worth area. He attended James Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas, where he actively played football and ran track during his tenure. He is currently a student at the University of Texas at San Antonio, majoring in Real Estate Finance and Development. Elijah plans to enter the field of commercial real estate and develop affordable housing for low income families after completion of his undergraduate degree.
Travis Chatman graduated from Trinity High School in Euless, Texas in 2018, where he was voted “Mr. Trinity” by his classmates. Travis enjoys participating in recreational and outside activities. Playing sports, gardening, sketching and drawing are a few of his main interests. Travis is currently attending the University of North Texas, located in Denton, Texas. He is a member of North Texas “Mean Green” football team and has plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.
Krystal D Williams graduated from Dr. Henry A. Wise Sr. High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland
with a grade point average of 3.3. She was inducted into the National Honor Society and the Tri-M
Music Honor Society. She played in the band and was a member of the Band Music Council at her high
School, as well as the captain of the Varsity softball team. She earned her Girl Scout Gold Award
(highest honor achieved in Girl Scouts) and now attends Delaware State University and plans to major in
Veterinary Medicine.
Zachary Brown is a first year medical student at Howard University College of Medicine. He is a native of Wichita Falls, Texas and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Neuroscience from Vanderbilt University in 2016. Moreover, he is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Elmer Douglas Ellis, Jr., (affectionately called EJ) is a senior at McKinley Technology High School in the
District of Columbia, where he has a 3.2 GPA and excels at higher level math. EJ plays varsity basketball
and is a member of the photography and yearbook club. EJ became involved with Cub Scout Pack 544 at Peoples Congregational Church In Washington DC at the age of 6, and advanced to the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 18. Eagle Scout is the highest achievement in the Boy Scouts of America. Only 18 percent of our young black males involved in Scouting attain that rank.
He is a member of the Allen
Chapel AM E church located here in DC and was a research analyst intern with Accenture in Virginia as
part of the “On Ramps Career to Technology Program.” EJ is a global citizen having traveled to Seoul,
Korea, Lisbon, Portugal and Santa Catarina Guatemala, where he lived in the village and helped with
building a road for the community.
EJ is now a rising junior at Morehouse College, majoring in Cinema-Television Emerging Media Studies
with a minor in Sports. He has been named the marketing coordinator for the Adams Scholar Program,
where he is responsible for coordinating marketing campaigns and managing the social media accounts of
the community service scholar programs. He is also the Assistant Producer for the Morehouse Maroon
Tiger Newspaper, "Tiger TV Program".
Amiya Smith was born on June 6, 1999. Growing up, Amiya has always had a thirst for knowledge and
an immensely strong affinity for the subjects of history and English. Some of Amiya’s greatest influences
in her life are those who are right within her home. Her mother, father and siblings set an exceptional
example in her life and influence her to remain strong and deeply rooted in Christ.
Throughout high school, Amiya has been pushed beyond her limits by taking AP courses and college
courses concurrently, doing community service outreach and balancing a strong relationship with God.
“None of these achievements could have been made without God; moreover, He has proven time and time
again that without Him, I can do nothing, but with Him, all things are possible. Amiya graduated from
Largo High School in May of 2017, and currently attends the illustrious Virginia State University in
Petersburg, Virginia.
Kayla Berry recently turned 21 on October 2, 2017. Kayla is a vibrant and extremely driven young lady.
She attended James Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas and began her undergraduate studies at
Tarrant County Community College in Arlington, Texas for two years. While attending college, she
worked at KinderCare daycare to pay her tuition.
While working at Kindercare, she grew very fond of the children, which made her realize her passion for
teaching. Kayla is now attending the University of Houston pursuing a degree in Business Management
with a minor in Education. She is also employed at HEB grocery store in Houston, Texas so she can
continue to subsidize her tuition. Kayla has experienced adversity in her life, but she continues to
persevere because of her faith in God. In her spare time, Kayla enjoys spending time with her friends and
exploring new places in Houston.
Reicardo Aman Smith graduated from Friendly High School in Fort Washington, Maryland with a 3.2
cumulative GPA. He currently attends Bowie State University and plans to major in Sports Management.
Reicardo is a multi-sport athlete who has received numerous honors: 2015-2016 Prince Georges (PG)
County Most Outstanding Player (2A Division Varsity Football); PG County First Team All-Conference
Defensive Back; 2016 National Football Foundation Hall of Fame Inductee and Scholarship Award
Recipient. Reicardo said his high school experience had its highs and lows, but with faith, patience,
perseverance and positivity, he graduated and was awarded a full-tuition athletic scholarship.
Brian Allen Younger is a 2016 graduate of Duval High School in Lanham, Maryland. Brian says his
mom, dad, older sister, Brian and little brother, Brandon, have always supported and influenced him,
fueling his drive to be a positive reflection of them. Brian attends the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES).and
plans to major in Business Management. In the future, Brian aspires to become the head of a company or
start his own. He is happy that he has a strong spiritual foundation that will guide him as he matriculates
at UMES and goes off on his own in the world..
Yao Rikonja “Levi” Dyson is a 2016 graduate of Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia. During high school, Levi played various sports, such as football, track, basketball and baseball and earned a Letterman’s jacket. Levi has received a partial scholarship to attend Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont and he is registered in the Air Force Corp of Cadet Program to study Mathematics. He plans to get his pilot’s license before graduating from College.
